Eli came to Big Dog Rescue from the Lancaster Shelter in Los Angeles County. They had him listed as an Afghan Mix but we think he is an Aussie-Poo *Standard Poodle.Aussie"

 

When Eli arrived at his temporary foster home, he was dirty, had fleas and ticks so off to a bath he went and he was wonderful. Sat nicely in the tub and seemed to enjoy the lathering of the soap and rinsing with warm water. The best part however, is the toweling off and the running all over the yard on a warm afternoon. Soon after drying it was time to get those mats out of his coat, he loved his brushing and would continue to come back for more.

 

When the boys came home from school he eagerly greeted them kissing them and rolling around on the floor.

 

Eli spent a great afternoon and evening in our home and for a pup right out of the shelter he was already housetrained, every time he needed to go potty out the back door he went to the grass, relieved himself and came back in. Eli slept thru the night with out incident.

 

Once we arrived at the ranch he was eager to meet everyone and all the dogs too. He walks really nicely on leash no pulling but tends to wander between your legs. Eli will be a larger dog with a coat that will require brushing and combing to keep it mat free.
