Caitlyn is a energetic, smart, loving and affectionate dog. She came to me as a foster, thin, shy and uncertain. Now she is confident, outgoing and very playful.
She is eager to learn and in a short time she has learned many commands that are both fun for her and us, eg. sit and stay, catch and fetch, leave it, up, down, dance, and more. She also has learned alot from the two other dogs she is currently living with and loves being apart of the pack.
Caitlyn is very active and her new family will need to be able to give her regular exercise and consistant guideness so she will not get bored and get into distructive behavior. With regular exercise and play time together we have found that Caitlyn balances this with alot of independant playtime. She loves to play with a variety of toys especially squeaking ones and chew toys.
Caitlyn just recently learned that if she rolls over she can have her tummy rubbed and as you can see she just loves it!!
HISTORY:
Caitlyn came to us from the Merced Shelter, when she arrived she was very matted and underneath those mats foxtails were hiding. Caitlyn has endured many surgeries to remove embedded foxtails over 100 so far.
Caitlyn has recovered nicely from her embedded foxtails and is now ready for her forever home. . Even through all her pain and procedures, Caitlyn remained friendly and affectionate. She is very smart and picked up house manners and sitting for treats very quickly in her foster home. She also learned that a leash is not something scary but for going on walks, how to play with other dogs, toys and fetch. She has now even invented her own game of hide and seek where she throws her toy in the bushes, pretends to be looking everywhere for it then finally dives into the bushes to find it.  She has the best temperament and deserves the best forever home.
She weighs under 10 pounds and is not a match for homes with children under 8 years old.
